The California Department of Industrial Relations has announced an increase to the pay rates computer software employees and physicians must receive in order to be exempt from overtime.
Additionally, the minimum salary required for the administrative, professional, and executive exemptions will increase at the start of the year. These new rates take effect on January 1, 2019.

Arkansas voters have approved a law that will increase the minimum wage in three stages beginning January 1, 2019.

The minimum wage in Alaska will increase to $9.89 per hour on January 1, 2019. The change is a result of an annual adjustment for inflation. All non-exempt employees must be paid at least the minimum wage per hour.
