Michigan has enacted legislation (Senate Bill 4) that will amend the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act (ELCRA) to expressly prohibit discrimination in employment based on sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. Senate Bill 4 takes effect June 14, 2023.

Illinois to Require that Employers Provide Paid Leave

Illinois has enacted legislation (Senate Bill 208) that will require employers to provide employees with up to 40 hours of paid leave that they may use for any reason. Senate Bill 208 takes effect Jan. 1, 2024.

California Updates Guidance & Resources for New Pay Data Reporting Rules

California’s Civil Rights Division (CRD) has released updated guidance and resources to reflect recent changes to the pay data reporting requirements for employers with 100 or more employees. The changes were a result of the enactment of Senate Bill 1162.   ADP is in the process of updating your payroll system to generate a fileable version of the employee pay data report. The fileable version is expected to be available in mid-April 2023.
